Message from the Founding Chairman (Sep 2015 - May 2018)

South Punjab Forest Company (SPFC) Chairman - Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari Awais Leghari was the Chairman of South Punjab Forest Company (SPFC) from September 2015 till May 2018. He was also the Member of National Assembly (MNA) from D.G. Khan (NA-173) and has been the Federal Minister for Power aswell. Awais Leghari is known to bring active professionalism in his work by involving stakeholders, academia, experts and public forums for well-informed decision-making. As former Minister for Information Technology, he initiated and oversaw the robust telecom sector in the country flourish into a giant industry it is today.

Awais Leghari is also the Chairman of Fort Munroe Development Authority. His aim is to bring South Punjab to the forefront of development and envisage Fort Monroe as a clean and beautiful hill resort with botanical gardens and reasonable amenities. He comes from an agriculturist-political family and still has much to offer to his constituency, his work, and to Pakistan both locally and internationally.

SPFC aims to seek private investments in the forestry sector across five districts of South Punjab which include Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh and D.G. Khan. Through Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, SPFC will help to curb deforestation in Punjab and promote sustainable economic development at large. Most importantly, SPFC will create green jobs and provide sustainable farmed wood to the industry, thus contributing to the GDP.

Furthermore, SPFC aims to address any environmental concerns, while aspiring for a sustainable future.
