South Punjab Forest Company (SPFC) join hands with the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) for the 1st International Conference on Climate Change and Biodiversity

May 02, 2017: SPFC had a strategic partnership with IUB for the 1st International Conference on Climate Change and Biodiversity, which took place at IUB from May 02 to May 04. During this international conference, the delegation of SPFC headed by Tahir Rasheed, CEO, had meetings with the scientific community, with a focus to increase forestry investments in Pakistan.

Tahir Rasheed also delivered a presentation to various stakeholders comprising of students, researchers and international participants. The presentation aimed to align SPFC’s commercial forestry initiative with mitigation and adaptation measures w.r.t climate change.

Tahir Rasheed also co-chaired a session at the conference and gave his valuable inputs on forestry and climate change to the researchers. Moreover, a shield and souvenirs were presented to Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, the chief organizer of the conference and Director at Cholistan Institute of Desert Studies (CIDS), IUB, for her efforts to make the conference successful.

A presentation on Climate Communication was delivered by Syed Muhammad Abubakar, Communication & PR Specialist, SPFC, with a focus to highlight the positive aspects of communication in raising awareness of climate change among masses.
